As the name suggests, a solar phone battery charger utilizes the power of the sun (a.k.a solar energy) to supply electrical power to your devices or charge the battery. The benefit of these portable devices is that they do not need an external electrical energy source to function, making them excellent for outside enthusiasts or people who lots of not have access to a power outlet right now (like if you're at a music festival in the middle of the desert or midway through a beautiful hike).

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we test tech items from water resistant speakers to gas leak detectors. To check solar charges, we take them to our basic light space and time for how long it requires to completely charge each unit.
